Update 5/8/22

I finished wiring for the front lights. I removed the front body and finished welding the support frame and painted it with VHT chassis paint. I made a shock tower brace which doubles as a fuel tank hold-down. I replaced hoses and fittings where the fuel line attaches to the fuel rail. The Audi fittings are probably some metric size and I found that 5/16 high pressure fuel hose fits better than 3/8 hose which is a little loose.

I installed new sensor bungs in the coolant crossover pipe on the rear of the Audi engine. Even though I found an adapter for the factory location, the sensor was very close to the throttle lever and might interfere with the throttle return spring. The new sensor bungs accept 1/8 and 3/8 npt sensors. The 3/8 sensor location accepts a standard GM sensor which doesn’t require any calibration in TunerStudio. The 1/8 npt location will accept a sensor for the analog VDO gauge.

I made polycarbonate windows for the rear quarters and the rear cockpit window. I want to have at least the rear cockpit window installed before taking the car on the street. I’m going to use urethane windshield adhesive to attach the rear cockpit window.

I still need to do the fan relay hookup to the MS3Pro. There is a mismatch and the MS3Pro provides a grounding output whereas the fan relay requires +12v for activation. The multi-relay block with the fan relay is designed for +12v activation of all relays so I may need a relay to trigger the relay, not ideal. I also need to mount the seat and check all the critical fasteners.

I bought a dedicated tablet to run TunerStudio. I was able to get away with a refurbished tablet that is several years old. It’s slow but I’m only running one app on the device.

    1. Lots of small things I had to button up but all that’s left is to do an alignment. I installed a set of adjustable rear upper control arms so I can adjust camber. I’m hoping the week of July 4th I can take the first drive!
