Update 7/10/22

I put the first 10 miles on the car today. The last two months I’ve been doing lots of small things to get the car ready. First impressions up to 35 mph:

Throttle response too quick off idle
Not much feel in clutch point of engagement
Brakes stop very well but no feel for point of engagement
Steering is very heavy—two hands to turn the wheel when the car is stopped
Car tracks straight up to 35mph; Car brakes straight from 35mph
Idle still a little unsteady after starting engine, but evens out
Relatively supple ride with no body roll
Bumps didn’t seem overly harsh
Squeaking from front of engine—might be idler pulley for alternator belt

The fuel injection auto-tune is really helping smooth out the engine but I need to fix a few things before going out again. I’ll want to replace the 20+ year old dry-rotted tires sooner than later.

First time out of garage since donor rolled in
Replacing severely worn plastic throttle pedal bushings
Tow bracket which fastens to front subframe, fitted under radiator
Tow strap bolted to tow bracket
Adjustable rear control arms. I was only able to use upper arms and toe links
Reinforcing the upper rear coilover mount.
Reinforcing the lower rear coilover mount
