I stripped all the red paint on the A/B/C pillars and around the windshield using a wire wheel and applied POR-15 white chassis paint. The paint isn’t a bright white, more of an ivory color, but it dries very hard and holds the surface well. I bonded the quarter panels to the car with 3M panel adhesive. Surface prep is important so I scuffed the steel chassis really well and sanded down the panels to the glass fibers on the inside edges. I cleaned the steel surface with left over enamel reducer until the paper towels came back clean. It was amazing how much grease there was on a surface that appeared clean. I went through a lot of paper towels but with a $40 tube of adhesive the price of a roll of paper towels is cheap insurance. After the epoxy had hardened the panels felt real solid. I gave the panels a firm tug and I think the fiberglass will fracture before they let go from the steel body.
