Update 4/25/14

I installed the South Bend HD clutch and flywheel assembly. I used a Luk DMF flywheel for an A4 2.8 30V application. When I first installed the flywheel it rubbed slightly on the rear main seal cover. When the flywheel was fully torqued it prevented the engine from turning. I used the thin shim which came from the rear side of the original flexplate to space out the flywheel ~.5 mm. That was enough clearance where the flywheel doesn’t rub. I bolted the engine and transmission together and installed the starter and clutch slave cylinder. Everything fits. This weekend I’ll replace the timing belt and valve cover gaskets and install the engine in the chassis.
