I glassed in the headlight housings but I haven’t settled on how I want to mount the headlights. As a result the housing have no backs. I need to remove the wood from the grill area and cut a large rectangular opening on the lower air dam for cooling. The front is losing a lot of its stiffness from all the openings. I need to add additional framing to the tilt mechanism to make it stiffer when the front is raised. Continue reading Update 4/29/12
Over the weekend I made a mold and laid up fiberglass to form oval headlight housings. I will integrate them into the grill area of the front body clip for the adjustable E30 headlight buckets. The car will use quad 7″ reflectors with H4 bulbs. Continue reading Updates 4/24/12
I installed pins on the rear corners of the front body clip to secure it when it is closed. After all the attachment points are finished, I’ll start filling and shaping the front body. There are lots of imperfections that must be removed due to the male mold process that I used. I also need to make the headlight housings for the quad 7″ rally lights and bond them on each side of the grill area. Continue reading Updates 4/10/12
